Dr. Dimowo, MD
John Dimowo, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist and a fellowship trained pain
management specialist. He also specialized in obstetrical anesthesia and cardiac
anesthesia. His additional and most recent interests include Regenerative Medicine
using stem cells and platelet rich plasma (PRP), functional medicine, and aesthetic
medicine.
His interest in stem cell medicine arose out of personal experience. Dr. Dimowo had
chronic back pain for many years. The pain was due to herniated and degenerative
lumbar disc. He struggled to get it under control for many years without significant long-
term relief. He was contemplating on minimally invasive laminectomy and discectomy.
Before the final decision on surgery, he had a stem cell trial. The stem cell therapy has
been so successful that he virtually does not experience any significant pain anymore.
He is now able to perform all activities that were limited because of his back pain. He is
off his NSAID. He wishes to avail patients of the same opportunity. Hence, he has been
involved in stem cell and functional medicine for years.
I’ve suffered with chronic knee pain for the last 10 years. I had tried injections before, nerve blocks and even Orthovisc injections and each time, they would work for a few months and the pain would come back.
